
On January 25, 1962 the first Governor’s Prayer Breakfast in the State of Kansas, was held in Topeka, under the direction and leadership of Governor John Anderson and State Auditor, Clay Hedrick. A local volunteer named Al Higgins soon took over responsibility for the Prayer Breakfast and recruited the members of his weekly Bible Study Group to assist with the Breakfast. Later the Bible Study Group formed Topeka Fellowships, Inc. a non-profit corporation, as the official sponsor of the Prayer Breakfasts. Topeka Fellowship is a 501-3(c) organization that purpose is to promote Christian Activities such as prayer groups, bible study, or any other function or events which are in keeping with the goals and objectives of the corporation.
On Sept. 12, 1974 the following individuals were the signers of the incorporation of the Topeka Fellowship Al Higgins, Clay E. Hedrick, Roy W. Browning Jr., Vernon Jarboe, Clayton C. McMurray, Bruce M. Johnson and Myron L. Listrom.
TOPEKA FELLOWSHIP EXECUTIVE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Membership of the Corporation shall consist exclusively of men over eighteen years of age, who are interested in living, learning, and teaching the Christian Way of life and by invitation of the Board of Directors. Topeka Fellowship, Inc. conducts a weekly bible study under the direction of James Turner The bible study is held at the Downtown Ramada Inn every Tuesday morning at 7:00 am from Sept thru May.
